BRAINWAVE COHERENCE AND THE TECHNIQUES THAT SUPPORT IT Part Three ORMUS Chapter Four The Enlightenment Pill Page One The Wind Of Legend And The Insistent Rustling Of Rumour Kitchen sink science might be at the heart of the ORMUS phenomenon but backing it all up is a treasury of legend, myth and alchemical knowledge that creates an instant mythos around the subject. Drawn from many cultures, this mythos is resonant with tales of the Elixir of Life and the Philosophers’ Stone that are capable of creating a spiritual interface with God, himself. It is this mythos that has driven the ORMUS phenomenon forward. And the fact that ORMUS substances do seem to have some amazing effects upon the mind, body and spirit. |

Within the ORMUS phenomenon there some strange anomolies. The first of these concerns the benefits of taking this near magical substance. Despite a prevalence of internet sources supplying ORMUS substances, there seems very little substantive information about what the effects might be. Some sites do offer a list of benefits that can be derived from ORMUS substances but there is little evidence of anything that might be by way of spiritual transformation among them. If these materials are linked to the ancient Egyptians, biblical manna and the Philosophers Stone by more than legend and a certain amount of history, where is the modern-day evidence? The rediscovery of ORMUS would seem to be one of the major scientific and spiritual events of recent years but, on the internet, there is more about its effects on plants (which, by the way, are really quite amazing) than people. |

Whilst some sources of ORMUS products are dedicated to ORMUS and nothing else, many are health supplement suppliers. And it is in the realm of health that ORMUS comes into its own. There are many anecdotal tales of ‘miracle’ cures from cancer and other major illnesses and even more about the effects on health generally. Whilst such effects might be moderately dramatic, they are no more than shadowy suggestions of contemporality lurking behind the myths and the legends. It is, however, in the area of general health and well-being that ORMUS has its best known and most easily pinned-down effects. Although the concern of this document is the effects of ORMUS on the mind and consciousness in all its aspects, health plays such a leading role in the ORMUS phenomenon (not least because, after all, mind and body are not separate units but one unified system) that it would be remiss to neglect them. Although each of the ORMUS substances has its own health benefits, some are more physiologically-orientated than others. ORMUS copper is good for arthritis, helps suppress greying hair and has positive effects on red blood cell formation, the immune system and on cholesterol levels. Iridium is said to promote improved cellular metabolism, neurological tissue regeneration and have an effect on the entire endocrine system. Also good for tissue regeneration, particularly of cellular structures in the eyes, is palladium, an anti-toxicant that has a significant effect on cancer-forming free radicals. Although many of the effects of gold fall into the spiritual realm, it is said to be good for arthritis, obesity, skin ulcers, puncture wounds, nerve damage and for wasting diseases. Similarly, platinum is said to have an overall effect on mind, body and spirit that extends beyond health and well-being. However, like all the ORMUS substances, platinum does have a very positive effect on tissue regeneration. Silver has a long history of use as an antibiotic and that seems to be its main effect. Finally, rhodium is strongly associated with the thymus which produces the T-cells that are the active part of the immune system. It is T-cells that protect against viruses and cancerous cells. It has been suggested that rhodium might have a role to play in inhibiting the growth of cancerous cells in the body. Nothing much there that smacks of the Philosophers’ Stone, though the Elixir of Life might come in for a showing. However, hidden within the health benefits of ORMUS substances is a pivotal link that brings us right back to the Stone. The words may be mine but the terms are not. Tissue regeneration? Aren’t we talking here about age and longevity? Traditionally, the Philosophers’ Stone IS the Elixir of Life. It is the substance that is said to offer at least longevity far beyond the normal lifespan, if not immortality. Whether this is physical immortality here on earth or spiritual immortality in the domain of the Gods is not clear. There are, however, a number of tales in the alchemical canon -- notably those of Nicholas Flamel and Count St. Germaine -- that tell of exploits of successful alchemists extending over centuries. But tales are tales and whilst white powder of gold may be on the way to the perfected Philosophers’ Stone, it is not the Stone. Whilst there may be alchemists out there who have perfected it (if there are, of course no one is saying - the traditional alchemical tight-lippedness still prevails,) most people in the ORMUS movement deal with m-state white powder precipitates that are not produced from gold. Not that it matters much. All m-state precipitates come from the same stable as the Stone and clearly have the same historical antecedents going back into the mists of time to the very same sources. Although it is the gold-based Philosophers’ Stone that has the reputation, maybe the other m-state white powder precipitates, through their tissue regenerative powers, also have the ability to extend the lifespan. It is, however, as spiritual and, even, sacramental materials that the m-state substances come into their own. The pivotal substance between health and spirituality in the m-state lexicon seems to be gold. M-state gold seems to have a big effect on the pineal gland which is situated at the lower front of the brain and is located in the lower centre of the forehead a little above the nose. Commonly regarded as the Third Eye, the eye that sees beyond the world, and as the Ajna Chakra, the sixth or penultimate Chakra, the pineal gland is heavily implicated in the development of spirituality and higher consciousness. Recent scientific research has demonstrated that yogis in deep states of meditation produce such quantities of the neuropeptides, serotonin and melatonin, that they flood the pineal gland. The combination of these neuropeptides is thought to produce the sweet and aromatic liquid known as soma (though in India, soma has many meanings) that is said to drip from the roof of the mouth onto the tongue during deep meditation. Many yogis describe soma as the ‘taste of Heaven’ and having experienced the taste of soma myself I cannot better that description. Serotonin and melatonin also seem to combine in the pineal gland to form small white crystals that have been compared to the crystals in a crystal radio. As the pineal gland is regarded as the seat of psychic abilities, it has been postulated that these crystals fulfil a similar purpose to those in a wireless receiver but on the psychic planes. Myth , Mythos And The In his lectures and presentations, David Hudson made it clear that whilst ORMUS might have significant effects on health, its use was a matter of spirituality. Although he described ORMUS as ‘pro-life,’ Hudson was quite unequivocal about what ORMUS was for. ‘This,’ he said, ‘is not a medicine. This material is, in fact, a philosophical material. It is here to enlighten and to raise the consciousness of mankind.’ As with every aspect of spirituality (and, indeed, life itself,) once again we enter the field of consciousness. As ill-defined and undefinable as ever, consciousness offers us a sweeping brush stroke that covers everything from conception to perception and beyond. It is, however, a brush stroke that defines no shapes or objects, that has no intrinsic meaning. It is an abstraction in time and space and it is how we see it that defines its content. For some of us the brush stroke is an elegant and elaborate curlicue, a fractal fantasy full of the intelligence that we can see all around us in the natural world. And for others it is a dark slash across the canvas of life. In pragmatic terms, how we view it does not matter much. Consciousness is the basis of our perception, understanding and interface with the world and life and we just live it. There are, however, aspects of consciousness, particularly expanded consciousness, that are far removed from mundane day-to-day existence, that take us into areas of speculation far beyond the prosaic. And it is in these areas that the ORMUS ethos comes alive. In defining the nature and history of ORMUS materials, Hudson referred to many ancient sources. Drawing on both the ancient and the modern, he established links with myth, legend and spirituality that have since formed almost the entire basis of the ORMUS ethos. Referencing Sumerian and Mesopotamian texts, the Book of Enoch, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Egyptian Book of the Dead and, of course, the biblical Old Testament and Hebrew Torah as well as more modern texts -- including ‘The Doctrine and Ritual of Transcendental Magic’ (1855) by Eliphus Levi, the writings of alchemist, mystic and visionary, René Adolphe Schwaller de Lubicz (1887 – 1961,) ‘Ages in Chaos’ (1952) by Immanual Velikovsky and the writings of Zechariah Sitchen and Graham Hancock -- he provided an historical frame of reference which his own research and the revelations of quantum physics could do nothing but confirm. If there is a belief system attached to the ORMUS materials, it is these associations that give it substance and colour. It is, however, the science that supports it all that takes ORMUS out of the field of belief and far beyond the necessity of faith. Having said that, it is easy to believe in something one can experience for oneself, as is the case with ORMUS. Although the history, mythos and science provide a certain access, getting a tag on the spiritual aspects of ORMUS is not easy. As ever the definitive source of such information is Barry Carter’s extensive web site. However, even on there the information is not easy to find in a cohesive and collected form. The best source of such information seems to be the ORMUS forums. Although I have been a member of the forums for a few years, I am but a fairly new recruit. Many of those on the forums are experienced makers and users of ORMUS substances, among them many alchemists and new age scientists, and have been members for many years. Among them, fortunately, is Chris Emmons, a registered pharmacist and author of ORMUS: Modern Day Alchemy (2009, Dreamgate Press, ISBN 978-0-9815840-1-0.) Although Ms Emmons book is subtitled ‘A Primer of Ormus Collection Processes’ and mainly deals in that subject (in amazing depth and with incredible authority,) she has much to say that would appear to have been gleaned from the ORMUS forum about the spiritual effects. In equating ORMUS with the life-force, the ‘Quintessence’ that permeates all things and is everywhere, Ms Emmons identifies a field that we may have encountered before, elsewhere on this web site. It is a field that is known by many names. The Vedic Indians called it Prana. It is also called Chi. Different cultures, different names. Names, however, never matter and for most of us it is an unnamed and undefined Source. I call it Creative Intelligence but that is only because my experience of the field has lead me to define it in that way. Having linked ORMUS to the central source of all spirituality, Ms Emmons goes on to talk about its effects. ORMUS, she says, has been said (a key phrase in all that follows) to facilitate communication between cells and between the body and the spirit. The use of ORMUS seems to invoke feelings of peace and contentment in many people and an enhanced level of perception where everything appears to be ‘alive.’ (Everything around us shares one fundamental quality -- it exists. This has been described as the State of Being and is another term for the Source. It is this state that one reaches in deep meditation, the progression inward being from action to thought to the source of thought to Being. Being is a state of pure existence with no attributes or qualities other than it exists. It is being able to perceive this quality in all things that makes everything seem alive. In India this experience is recognized as the state of consciousness that precedes the state of Enlightenment. It is called God Consciousness.) These effects of ORMUS are closely associated with states of higher consciousness and have a pervasive impact on how people view, interface with and react to the world and life. In every way, ORMUS appears to benefit both the physical body and light body, or spirit. The Body of Light is identified in Egyptian iconography as an aspect of the soul. Called the Ka, it is said to be one of seven subtle bodies through which consciousness can express itself and has been associated with astral projection. The Egyptians believed that the Ka was feed by food and drink but the food they probably meant was ORMUS in the form of shewbread or shem-an-na. Many people seem to feel that ORMUS ‘works to perfect the body, mind and spirit’ and thereby has a direct effect upon the Body of Light, the spirit and the soul. As it is the physical body that is the seat of consciousness that is defined on one level as the Body of Light, it is hardly surprising that these effects of ORMUS are accompanied by feelings of physical vibrancy and general good health, both physical and mental. As Laurence Gardner maintains in his groundbreaking opus on m-state materials, the Ark of the Covenant and white powder of gold, ‘Lost Secrets of the Sacred Ark’ (2004,) the ancients clearly knew about this form of ‘food.’ The knowledge was, however, lost. As a result of this loss our Body of Light has had to survive without the nourishment that imbues it with the power to transform consciousness. Perhaps this has accounted for the high levels of spiritual bankruptcy that have prevailed within the world in recent centuries. It is said that the use of ORMUS provokes insights, new ideas, original thoughts and realizations. The ancients described ORMUS as the ‘teacher of righteousness.’ And righteousness or right action is said to be an effect of higher consciousness. It has been said that ORMUS has an effect on manifesting desires as reality. One of the key effects of increased consciousness is an understanding of how reality is created. Extrapolating this realization into action, it becomes possible to shape one’s own reality in a very real way. Reality comes out of desires though mostly our individual realities are expressions of frustrated desires more than fulfilled ones. The preceding paragraphs clearly define ORMUS as a material that has a fundamental and potent effect on spirituality and consciousness. However, if that doesn’t do it for you, then there is much other evidence available. |
