ORMUS And The Science
of Consciousness

As there are a number of precipitants of higher consciousness, so there are also a number of measures that can define its existence. One of these, of course, is brainwave coherence. And, surprisingly, ORMUS is not without evidence to suggest that it does, indeed, induce positive changes in brainwave activity.

Again, it is back to Barry Carter for the details. In a document on his web site entitled, Brainwave Coherence and ORMUS, Barry recounts four research studies sent to him during 2004/5. All of these indicate a distinct synchronization of brainwaves following ingestion of m-state substances.

The first of these studies, submitted anonymously to the ORMUS lists, describes EEG tests conducted in 2002 by the Alpha Learning Institute -- Europe’s foremost research institute for behavioural sciences and learning difficulties -- at the World Trade Center in Lugano, Italy. The six week research project involved the EEG testing of ten people between the ages of 17 and 52 taking a controlled dose of an m-state substance marketed under the name, 'Etherium Gold.'

According to the informant, ‘the results were astonishing,’ clearly demonstrating ‘alpha-wave enhancement and hemispheric synchronization effects’ In the report of the Alpha Learning Institute (which, unfortunately, is no longer to be found on the site of the organization that markets Etherium Gold, Harmonic InnerPrizes) it says: ‘There can be no question as to the results. This is a chemistry/physics experiment -- not psychology. Whether one believes it or not, Etherium Gold is definitely going to change any brain for the better -- more balance and learning ability.

The second EEG report came to Barry Carter in 2004 from another supplier of m-state materials (ZP.Tech.) Although less substantial that the previous report, it has more details about the EEG results. Only two test subjects were involved, both men, one aged about 50 and the other 25. Having established a baseline EEG reading, both subjects were given a dose of an m-state substance marketed under the name, ‘The Portal.’

To quote from the text of the report: ‘Within 2 minutes both had their left and right hemispheres go (sic) into synchronization and they dropped into the alpha state of brain activity. Then the frontal lobes went into synchronization with the rear quadrants, which made all four quadrants of the brain synchronized. When this happened, they both went into the theta level of brain activity, and the 25 year old, having never meditated a day in his life, was making dips into the delta range, which is a range of brain activity deeper than sleep (and) deep meditation. This all happened while the subjects were wide awake and chatting away with us and the technician.’

The report suggests that delta waves indicate that the pineal gland has ‘gone active.’ As we saw earlier, the pineal gland is heavily implicated in consciousness and spirituality.

The third report comes from a 51 year old ORMUS researcher who wired himself up after ingesting some ORMUS infused trap water. He says: ‘Within minutes of ingestion of a glass of trap water I was in a deep alpha rhythm.’ And this was while he was sitting in conversation before starting the EEG reading proper. With his eyes closed, the EEG recorded ‘deep delta rhythm in both hemispheres and my frontal lobes producing minute-long spikes of gamma’ (with the) ‘spikes of gamma lasting for as long as three and a half minutes.’ As we have seen gamma waves are associated with long-term meditators and yogis and denote states beyond deep meditation. Similar results were obtained when a 32 year old female was tested.

As an visual exemplar of the effects of ORMUS, the correspondent includes Kirlian photographs of himself before and after ingesting 12 ounces of ORMUS-infused trap water. Kirlian photography is a process that registers an image on a photographic plate by connecting the photographic subject directly to the plate. The resulting photogram is of the energy field surrounding the subject. This energy field in human subjects is widely held to be the aura. The pictures speak for themselves.

The fourth and final report is a double blind study again conducted by a producer of m-state products, CherokeeGold.net. Once again, the influence of ORMUS was clearly detected in brainwave coherence.

It seems clear from these reports and the other extensive, detailed and authoritative material available on ORMUS that it does have an effect, often a dramatic effect, on consciousness. One of the few scientific measures of changes in consciousness available to us is that provided by EEG readings. Clearly the indicator of changes in consciousness is to be found in the synchronization and coherence of brainwave activity. That being so, ORMUS certainly qualifies as a major player in the field of spirituality.
