Personal Codicil

Although my own experience with ORMUS is far from characteristic, it is, perhaps, worth relating.

As a long-term student of alchemy I was aware of white powder of gold. I had read the classic alchemical texts including ‘The Secret Book’ by Artephius and, using ‘In Pursuit of Gold’ by Lapidus (a contemporary alchemist,) I had done some abortive test runs. Around this time (2004/5,) quite spontaneously, my interest in early Christianity and the bible and ancient Egypt and the cultures that preceded it came together and seemed to be conspiring to make me aware of white powder of gold. It seemed that everywhere I turned I encountered mentions of this mysterious substance.

It was at this time, more in pursuit of my biblical interests than my alchemical ones, that I bought a copy of ‘Lost Secrets of the Sacred Ark’ by Laurence Gardner (a book I thoroughly recommend for both its biblical interpretations and for the new science it contains.) This introduced me to David Hudson’s work and told me loads more about white powder of gold and the Philosophers’ Stone.

An inveterate and experienced researcher, I spent the next few months finding out everything I could about m-state substances and white powder of gold. My first and most frequent point of call was, needless to say, Barry Carter’s site. Around this time I also joined the ORMUS forum.

It was when it came to researching the effects of ORMUS on the mind, consciousness and spirituality, that I was brought up short. It is my interest in and experience of these subjects that constitutes the very hub of my many-spoked knowledge wheel. When I went through the effects of ORMUS consumption as reported on Mr Carter’s site and by members of the forum, I discovered that they resonated very loudly with many of the effects that I have experienced and continue to experience through meditation.

Although I love meditating and thoroughly enjoy almost every meditation I wondered if, in ORMUS, I might have found a substance that would carry me deeper (not that I could go much deeper) into meditation or in some way extend the effects and benefits I experience. Some people are greedy for food, some for clothes, some for possessions; I happen to be greedy for consciousness.

Over the next two to three years I went through five or six different preparations, each one more ‘potent’ (and more expensive) than the previous one. However, although I really wish I could report some effects, I cannot.

The final preparation I bought was on the advice of members of the ORMUS forum. It was, I believe, a solution of red powder of gold that within the alchemical canon is known as the Red Lion. After having tried a number of products with no effect whatsoever, I was in something of a quandary about what to do. So I turned to the experts. In a forum post I described my activities, the substances I had used and their lack of effects and asked if anyone had had similar experiences. I got several replies from members who associated with my experience. Several of the replies recommended the same substance so I went for that.

Again, no effect.

When I had finished my supply I went back to the forum and asked if anybody had any idea why others experienced such dramatic effects from ORMUS while I experienced nothing but a hole in my wallet. In my previous post I had mentioned my experiences with meditation; how long I had been doing it and what I felt it gave me. In this one I expanded that discussion quite considerably. The thread went on for some time but no conclusions were reached. The general consensus seemed to be that as I already had all the things -- some of them in spades -- that ORMUS was said to provide, I did not have the capacity for more. Nice people that they are, not one of them mentioned that maybe I was being greedy for wanting more.

I am still not sure why ORMUS had no effect on me. Maybe it was because of the reason suggested above but I think that it was, more likely, a matter of a lack of spiritual sensitivity on my part. But who can say?

As I said in the first paragraph of this document my experience was not at all representative or characteristic of the ORMUS experience. However, as everyone responds to stimuli in different ways, my experiences should not deter anyone. It is for that reason that I have not mentioned any products by name nor identified any suppliers. Just because it didn’t do anything for me, it does not mean it will not do something for you.

In researching and writing about the ORMUS phenomenon, I am indebted to Barry Carter not only for his fantastically comprehensive and detailed web site (http://www.subtleenergies.com/ormus/index.htm) but also for his personal kindness in answering my questions and providing me with links to difficult to find information on his site. Without the wealth of information provided by Barry Carter the creation of these documents on the ORMUS phenonomen would not have been possible. I would also like to acknowledge the wonderful support and information I received from many members of the ORMUS forums. Thank you everyone.

I am also grateful to Chris Emmons RPh, author of ‘ORMUS: Modern Day Alchemy.' I heartily recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in ORMUS, particularly so far as collection processes go.
